Bumblebee goby:
ph 7-7.4
salt: 1tsp per 10 lt (rock salt with no additives) to full fresh water.
size: around 3-5cm
males are approx 1-1.5 cm smaller than females, Females larger, chubbier and surprisingly show a lot more colour (all the time) males show frequent colour changes according to mood, status in the group and background. males will set up shop in a small cave which they will defend from other fish. spawning can be triggered by a fresh water-change + leaving heater off for a day. or conditioning fish with lots of live blackworm for several weeks (all the little buggers will eat anyhow!) they will lay approx 60-10 small tear shaped eggs on the surface of the cave. the male will defend these for about 4 days then will attempt to eat the fry after they have hatched so removal after 3 days is a good idea.
male will chase and nip at the female untill she starts retalliating and chasing him back to his cave where he will start showing off. he will often shoot up and down the glass near his cave when ready to breed as some kind of display.
about the only thing fry will eat is vinegar eels, BBS and insuforia, liquid foods just kill off the fry as they dont touch it. they seem very sensitive to water changes untill about 1/2 grown.
for the cool changes started at about 24c, went down to about 18c after the waterchange (leaving heater off for around 8 hours) all my fishtank lights are on timers so they get around 10-12 hours of light a day.
